Havana Car Club

N° 9

 M. Van Eesbeeck

In 1960 the United States imposed an embargo on exports to Cuba which endures to this day.

As a result, the Cubans have had to innovate and overcome significant obstacles to keep running the 300,000 or so American cars from the 50's and earlier that were already on the island.  These classic American cars have now become a significant part of Cuban life and culture.  Enjoy a meeting of the Club de Autos de Antiguos, and visit the home workshops of members where they work their magic to keep the cars running.
